Our Impact

Fifteen years. Over 1,000 projects. Real, measurable change.

We measure our success by the outcomes we help create, not the reports we produce. Over fifteen years and across more than 150 organisations worldwide, Aleron has worked at the point where strategy meets execution, helping clients diagnose complex challenges, build credible plans, and deliver lasting change.

Our work spans health and medical research, education, financial inclusion, energy transition, community resilience, animal welfare, and sustainable finance. We have operated across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and beyond, working with global corporations, governments, foundations, mission-led organisations, and social enterprises.

The breadth is intentional. The world's most pressing social and sustainability challenges do not respect sector boundaries, and neither do we.

Fifteen years of working at the frontier of social impact and sustainability has taught us one thing above all: the difference between good intentions and lasting change is rigour, creativity, and the courage to follow the evidence wherever it leads.

WHAT WE HAVE DELIVERED

Our work is organised around the UN Sustainable Development Goals, because that is the framework within which the most ambitious organisations are operating. Below is a selection of the work we are proud of.

  • Goal 3: Good Health & Wellbeing

Working with the Institute for Cancer Research and the Royal Marsden Hospital following the development of an ambitious joint research strategy, we designed the operating model and built the capabilities needed to translate that strategy into action, strengthening one of the world's leading cancer research institutions.

  • Goal 4: Quality Education

We partnered with the University of London to transform their online education provision, redesigning the operating model and embedding new capabilities across business development, course design, and student services. We also evaluated the FLIER programme at the Academy of Medical Sciences, assessing its effectiveness in developing future leaders in innovation, enterprise, and research.

  • Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy

We supported Ionech, a deep-tech startup based at the Harwell Energy Technology Cluster in Oxfordshire, in developing their strategy and raising the investment needed to build a large-scale prototype. Ionech has developed a pioneering Air Voltaic Cell technology that converts the energy of ambient air into electrical energy, with the potential to transform high-energy demand applications and operate at grid scale, saving megatons of CO2 in the process.

  • Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

We were appointed through competitive tender to design a digital platform to connect disadvantaged young people aged 16 to 30 to employment opportunities at the end of their employability pathway. Separately, we delivered a comprehensive Social Return on Investment analysis for an Employment and Training Foundation that was part of a consortium tackling unemployment. The programme generated an SROI ratio of 4.12:1, demonstrating that every pound invested created over four pounds of measurable social value.

  • Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities

We supported the launch of Fair4All Finance, co-designing with the team a strategy to improve access to affordable credit for people in vulnerable financial circumstances. We have also worked with auticon, an IT social enterprise providing neurodiverse talent to corporate clients, producing an impact report that evidenced the social and economic value of their model.

  • Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

We advised NEOM on a comprehensive Social Return on Investment analysis of their social responsibility programmes, engaging thousands of stakeholders through surveys, mapping outcomes, and calculating impact across multiple initiatives. The result was a full SROI report, a gap analysis, and an advisory framework for best practice in future social investment.

  • Goal 13 – Climate Action

We are working with Jisc – a provider of network and IT services and digital resources to universities, colleges and research institutions to implement their CSR strategy including their journey to net zero.

  • Goal 15 - Life on Land

We have worked with numerous national and global animal welfare organisations, including Brooke, Woodgreen and World Animal Protection. We assisted them in a range of areas, from strategy development and impact measurement to process improvement.

  • Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals

We partnered with the Mozilla Foundation to assess its impact and develop a refreshed strategy to advance internet health and responsible AI. Our work produced a new Theory of Change, a performance framework using OKRs, and a clear direction for more data-driven decision-making. We have also worked with Bloomberg Philanthropies, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, and a range of foundations and cross-sector coalitions to design grant strategies and build collaborative models for systemic change.

THE SCALE OF OUR WORK

Our 1,000 plus projects span strategy, transformation, impact measurement, ESG reporting, and sustainable finance. Our clients range from global institutions to nonprofits, city councils, housing associations, social enterprises, and private equity firms with sustainability mandates.

We have delivered operating model reviews across organisations with thousands of staff and hundreds of millions in annual spend. We have built investment readiness programmes for mission-led ventures. We have produced SROI analyses that have been used to justify public investment, secure philanthropic capital, and redesign programmes to maximise social value.

Whatever the scale or sector, we bring the same commitment: rigorous analysis, creative thinking, and execution that translates ambition into outcomes that can be measured, communicated, and built upon.

We would like to understand your challenges and opportunities, and show you what rigorous, purposeful consulting can deliver.
