Local Network Model

Situation

Versus Arthritis is the coming together of two charities, Arthritis Research UK and Arthritis Care. There are over 10 million people living with arthritis in the UK. Versus Arthritis wanted to ensure that all people, regardless of geographic location, were able to connect with the charity and access quality support that was suited to their particular needs. They needed a flexible audience-centred support network and mechanism for local engagement and service-delivery.

Our approach

We utilised a mixed methods approach of co-design, survey analysis and interviews, to develop a local model. We embraced the diversity of perspectives and insights of various audience segments and contexts, harnessing the best ideas of those who would ultimately use and deliver the support. Our layered analysis equipped us with a deep understanding of local nuances in need, capacity and relationship networks. This informed a model design that was consistent and holistic but still tailorable to suit particular contexts.

Our impact

Versus Arthritis now has a clear understanding of the specific needs and gaps in required support for different audience segments within their local communities. Additionally, they have a flexible mechanism both to capture the local insight and shifting support needs of their varied audiences, as well as to deliver this curated content and tailored service to their communities.
